Job Description / Duties
Renison University College, affiliated with the University of Waterloo, and located on the traditional territories of the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee and Attawandaron (Neutral) peoples, invites applications for the full-time, ongoing position of Residence Life Coordinator.

Objectives:
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Housing and Student Life, responsibilities of this role include administrative duties; student, staff and volunteer coordination; working with other program staff in residential life programming to support the non-academic life of students and their experience while living in the Renison University College’s community; student and student staff development; and resolution of student conduct issues to ensure a healthy, safe and supportive environment for all students.
This position is scheduled from 2 pm to 10 pm on Mondays and Tuesdays to accommodate a variety of student academic schedules, staff meetings, and events. 10 am to 6 pm from Wednesday to Friday.
Qualifications / Required Skills
Education:
• Undergraduate degree required; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
• Knowledge on best practices and trends/standards within the area of Housing and/or Student Life
Experience:
• Several years of leadership experience within Housing and/or Student Life, preferably in a university setting
• Demonstrated organizational skills; highly detail oriented, with an aptitude for accuracy
• Demonstrated project management, analytical and planning abilities
• Proven leadership skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to be sensitive to student concerns
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Professional, tactful and diplomatic, with ability to maintain strict confidentiality
• Ability to take initiative, work independently with minimal supervision and exercise good judgment and decision-making
• Ability to take initiative, show resourcefulness and be attuned to the needs of various groups/individuals.
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
• Strong computing skills using Microsoft Office Suite software and web-based applications
• Ability to deal with diverse issues in a dynamic and changing student environment
• Knowledge of the University of Waterloo’s support services is an asset
