Job Description / Duties
Reporting to the Manager, Residence Life, the Residence Life Coordinator (RLC) helps to plan, implement, and evaluate all Residence Life major programs and activities for students, to ensure that the strategic and operational objectives of the Residence Life program are achieved. This includes, but is not limited to: oversight of the Transition Support Model, student conduct program, Residence Life Staff (RLS) recruitment, training, etc. The RLC supervises a student-staff team (8-10 Resident Assistants, 1 Residence Community Assistant, etc.) and works to facilitate and support a safe, secure, and quality living experience for all students in Residence. The RLC will participate in a rotational on-call schedule, responding to emergency situations and providing support to RLS 24/7.
This is a live-in position with accommodation and a meal plan provided.
Qualifications / Required Skills
The successful candidate will possess an Undergraduate Degree in a relevant discipline (social work, community studies, leadership, human resources, education, etc.), along with 1-3 years of related experience working in a residence setting at a college or university. Supervisory experience and experience developing programs and activities is an asset. ASIST, First Aid/CPR, and Narcan/Naloxone training preferred (will be provided if not already obtained).
