Position: Residence Education & Transition Coordinator (RETC)

Job Description / Duties
Planning and implementing components of curricular and/or co-curricular programs and activities
Planning and overseeing the implementation of an evaluation framework for programs and initiatives
Conducting detailed analysis of program efficiency and student learning outcomes to inform program planning activities
Facilitating educational workshops and seminars
Advising students on co-curricular, academic and personal matters by providing options and consequences incorporating personal circumstances impacting academic success and an understanding of an individual's background
Developing strategies that maximize outreach to students
Training and coaching student life staff and student leaders
Qualifications / Required Skills
Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
Minimum four years of relevant experience (combination of para-professional and professional experience is acceptable) living and/or working in an education setting. Experience in a university residence setting is preferred.
Demonstrated experience dealing with emergency situations and crisis response.
Experience supervising or supporting student staff teams.
Experience planning and facilitating workshops/programs/seminars.
Experience monitoring and maintaining accounts and budgets.
Comfortable working in an unpredictable and often stressful environment.
Proven ability to deal with matters of extremesensitivity and confidentiality.
Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
Excellent organization and time management skills.
Commitment to improving and enhancing the residence experience.

Salary: USW Pay Band 12 -- $71,842 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $91,875. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
