About the Role
The Peer Learning Coordinator works on the day-to-day operations of the Peer Learning Program, in cooperation with another Coordinator. This includes serving 100+ student volunteers and about 800 students seeking help over the academic year. Ideally, the incumbent would have volunteer management skills, well-developed administrative skills, and an understanding of learning in the post-secondary environment.
The demands of this role require the incumbent to have the capacity to work in a complex environment with shifting priorities and the skill to support a large team of volunteers with significant administrative work to keep the program running smoothly. This position is highly student-focused and the success and satisfaction of students is paramount.
This fast-paced role reports to the Peer Programs Supervisor. It is a full-time, on-campus role working 35 hours per week; sometimes evening or weekend work may be required.
Responsibilities
Recruit, train and manage more than 100 volunteer student Learning Peers
Provide coaching support for Learning Peers and the students they work with
Schedule, organize, facilitate, and assess training for Learning Peers
Assess Learning Peers performance to provide both formative and summative feedback
Work to actively build community, plan events, and reward participant efforts
Communicate with faculty, staff, and students to promote the Peer Learning Program
Write newsletters, Instagram posts, and communicate regularly with large groups in a variety of ways
Monitor, organize, and respond to a high volume of email daily
Ensure that statistics for the Peer Learning Program are accurately and regularly recorded
Maintain data records ensuring accuracy, and troubleshooting spreadsheets as required
Multi-task frequently shifting priorities and manage tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment, while providing excellent ongoing service to students and staff
Act independently to figure out and prioritize assignments using exceptional problem-solving and organization skills

Qualifications / Required Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
Two to three years of experience working with students in an academic setting – preferably post secondary
Experience with data collection, management and analysis
Highly proficient using Google Suite (especially Sheets, Forms and Slides), including using formulas, filters, and other advanced tools in spreadsheets
An ability to build rapport with students, staff, and faculty
Commitment to working in a collaborative team environment
Excellent speaking, listening, and writing skills
Comfort with tight deadlines and varied tasks
Previous volunteer management experience preferred

Salary: $59,675 - $75,507 annually (starting at the low to mid point range)
