Job Description / Duties
We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Operations Supervisor to work with Housing Services for this exciting opportunity.
In this role, you will be responsible for the day to day maintenance, repair, and minor renovation for all the interior and exterior of residence buildings located on the Keele Campus covering 14 buildings and approximately 1.2 million square feet of space. You will also be responsible for referral and follow up of maintenance and renovation services coordinated through Facilities Services, for the Undergraduate Residences and York Apartments. The Supervisor plans, allocates, and refers the necessary operational resources to ensure Housing delivers on its objectives to provide well maintained, functional and safe residential facilities that support a positive living environment for students. This position is also responsible for inventory, maintenance, secure storage, distribution of maintenance supplies and equipment, and for maintaining access control procedures for the residence buildings.
This position is committed to responsive, consistent and pro-active service delivery to students within a 24/7 living environment which includes effectively coordinating and communicating with residents for scheduled and emergency maintenance and repairs, service interruptions and renovation projects.
Qualifications / Required Skills
To be considered for this opportunity, you will possess:
High school graduation diploma required. Community college courses in a related field preferred or equivalent such as business, supervision and property management courses Building Environmental Systems Facility Manager Certificate or equivalent is required. Class “G” driver’s license in good standing required. In addition, the successful incumbent will possess a Minimum five (5) years recent and directly related supervisory experience in maintenance or facilities services environment, preferably in a university student residential setting, including a minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a unionized environment is required. Budget experience is an asset.
