Job Description / Duties
The University of New Brunswick Fredericton welcomes applications for the position of Manager, Residence Administration with Residence, Student Services. This is a 3-year term, full-time (36.25 hours per week) position with a salary range of $48,524 - $63,081 per annum.
Student Services Divisions contribute to the University's strategic goals of an exceptional and transformative student experience and of financial resiliency and responsibility. The Residence Division contribute to the creation of a campus environment that supports student success and student engagement in both academic pursuits and co-curricular life.
Position summary:
• Provide leadership in Residence admissions, accommodations, communication, front desk services, and marketing.
• Initiate policy, procedure, and assessment revisions and changes to meet changing needs.
• Manage personnel and all front-line administrative processes within Residence Administration.
• Develop and oversee a comprehensive assessment and benchmarking annual plan for Residence Admissions.
• Manage and develop all front desk staffing, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure that communication systems are maintained between front desk and all other Residence services areas.
• Manage smooth transition of operations between student residence and the conference operations in May/August.
• Develop, implement and/or maintain all front-line administrative systems such as Colleague, Blackboard/Transact, eResLife, facilities work order, and any central hard copy records.
• Update and maintain the annual Residence billing, refund and change tables, the Residence Application and Contract, Transact dining and door access records, and eResLife student information,
• Oversee the room/apartment/dining application, assignment, changes, and daily updates.
• Assist with the overall development of the Residence Budget.
• Oversee end of term administrative processes such as departing notifications and schedules, and extension requests.
• Negotiate/manage the arrangements for transitional residence, extra full year residences, & winter break residence.
• Participate in an afterhours on-call rotation.
• Design, manage and annually update student surveys and reviews, publications, marketing material, and events.
• Develop and update the student residence contract and oversee all residence student accounts.
Qualifications / Required Skills
• Undergraduate degree in a related field. 3 years of related leadership experience. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Experience in administration leadership, marketing and communication, development and implementation of student/client-centric programming and services, human resources management, and/or budget development.
• Collaborative leadership, communication, consensus-building, and negotiation skills.
• Exceptional written communication skills.
• Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to create an environment that promotes and encourages change or innovation.
• Knowledge of trends, best-practices and standards related to residential administration.
• Ability to successfully perceive, navigate and respond appropriately to sensitive, or crisis issues.
