Housing & Residence Life at Ryerson maintains an extensive Residence Life program. The intention of the Residence Life program to holistically support student development in all aspects of their lives while living in Residence. Our ultimate goal is to create a community in which students can live and learn in a safe and supportive environment
The Coordinator, Residence Case Management provides support and guidance to facilitate the resolution of complex issues and support student success. This individual takes a proactive role in assessing Housing & Residence Life and the University’s policies and practices related to critical student behaviour incidents in residence. The incumbent will take a lead role in providing education and outreach for Housing & Residence Life in order to create a community in which students can live and learn in a safe and supportive environment.
Qualifications / Required Skills

-Completion of a post-secondary degree in social work, counselling, psychology, public health or a related degree.
-Minimum of 5 years of related experience in a university setting with a demonstrated background in residence life, student affairs, community services, etc.
-Experience managing communities and student behaviour in a 24-hour Housing & Residence Life environment
-Knowledge of current issues and best practices regarding student case management, student conduct administration, youth culture, student development theory, and student service delivery.
-Knowledge of legal and human rights legislation, team dynamics and workplace violence, knowledge of community resources for victims of violence, or trauma.
-Strong verbal communication skills, Demonstrated ability to work diplomatically and build relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders and across a diverse population.
-Demonstrated expertise in case management and considerable skill in developing, managing and maintaining a database of student records.
-Highly developed problem solving skills
-Strong research and analytical skills.
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, PowerPoint) and email software.
Salary: MAC - C42 ($60,582 - $96,932)
