Job Description / Duties
In this role you will be reporting to the Director of Housing & Conference Services, the Manager Building Operations, is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations, building maintenance and major renewal projects for six apartment buildings and eight undergraduate residence buildings at the Keele campus, covering in total just over 1.56 million square feet of living and common space. The Manager is responsible for ensuring a quality customer service approach to rental/residence management by ensuring custodial and housekeeping is maintained at a desired standard, repair and maintenance is carried out on a timely basis, preventative maintenance and renewal programs are identified, planned and managed appropriately. Additional responsibilities include strategic and financial planning. human resource management. policy and process development and implementation.
Qualifications / Required Skills
To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring the following:
Must possess a degree or diploma from a recognized community college or university in a business or technical discipline (i.e. Building Environmental Systems, Building/Facilities Maintenance, Property Management) or equivalent. Courses in accounting and human resources management. project management and scheduling would be an asset. Minimum of 5 years' experience in residential, property or facilities maintenance or equivalent amount of education and experience. Supervisory or management experience in a unionized environment required.
