Job Description / Duties

Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Maintenance Operations the Maintenance Site Supervisor assists with the day to day coordination of the maintenance operations for 14 residence buildings on the Keele Campus. This position is responsible for the processing of work orders and works closely with the Building Operations team by issuing service requests and ensuring these requests are completed in a timely manner. This position assists with planning and allocating resources for the daily maintenance operation of the buildings to ensure that Housing Services provides a safe and a well-maintained environment for residents. The Undergraduate Residence buildings comprise of 2,250 bed spaces that include self-contained suites, single & double rooms and common shared facilities. The York Apartment Residences comprise of 1,300 self-contained units in 6 buildings. The Maintenance Site Supervisor ensures that work conducted at the York Apartments is in compliance with the Residential Tenancies Act and works closely with the Senior Manager, Building Operations and the Building Operations team to coordinate Housing contracted services and renewal projects.

Qualifications / Required Skills

To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring the following:
High school graduation diploma required. Completion of community college courses in a related field such as business, supervision and property management or equivalent is preferred. Building Environmental Systems, Facility Manager Certificate or equivalent is an asset. Class 'G' driver's license in good standing required.

Minimum two (2) years recent and directly related experience in maintenance or facilities services environment, including 1 year of experience working in a supervisory position preferably in a unionized environment. Experience in a university student residential setting is an asset. Budget experience is an asset.

*Compensation:
York implemented a revised CPM Compensation Framework in 2019. The Framework is a salary grid consisting of 6 or 8 steps (depending on job grade) which is reviewed annually with possible adjustments, and a lump sum Merit Incentive Award. Employees will receive the grid adjustment and depending on performance, eligible permanent employees may move to the next step of the grid and may receive a performance lump sum Merit Incentive Award.
