Job Description / Duties

In this role you will be reporting to the Manager, Housing Building Operations, the Assistant Manager, Custodial Operations is responsible for the day to day custodial operations and upkeep for Undergraduate Residences and York Apartments located on the Keele campus which covers 14 buildings and approximately 1.2 million square feet of space. This position is responsible for the custodial operations and plans, allocates and refers the necessary operational resources to ensure Housing delivers on its objectives to provide clean, functional and safe residential facilities that support a positive living environment for students. The Custodial Operations Supervisor is responsible for meeting the occupancy of year-round turnover demands for student housing as well as the summer hospitality operations. The Undergraduate Residences are comprised of eight residence buildings consisting of 2,250 bed spaces, common facilities, and 63 self-contained staff suites. York Apartments consist of 1,300 self-contained bachelor, 1 & 2 bedroom units. Qualifications / Required Skills

To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring the following:
High school graduation diploma required. Community college courses in a related field such as property, facility management, hotel management, supervision or equivalent is preferred. Class 'G' driver's license in good standing required. Minimum five (5) years recent and directly related supervisory experience in housekeeping or custodial services, preferably in a university student residential setting, including a minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a unionized environment is required. Budget experience is an asset.

*Compensation:
York implemented a revised CPM Compensation Framework in 2019. The Framework is a salary grid consisting of 6 or 8 steps (depending on job grade) which is reviewed annually with possible adjustments, and a lump sum Merit Incentive Award. Employees will receive the grid adjustment and depending on performance, eligible permanent employees may move to the next step of the grid and may receive a performance lump sum Merit Incentive Award.
