Job Description / Duties
The Associate Director Residence Life is responsible for leading the strategic development and evaluation of a broad framework of support services that foster student learning, success and strong student communities, meaningful orientation and transition experiences. Establishes a climate that supports and facilitates student-focused approach to customer service and support. Supports and contributes to the strategic organization of the overall vision, modeling and implementation of the UBC Student Residential Experience.
Residence Life is a 24-hour operation providing support to students and responding to all resident crises and residence emergencies as well as inquiries from students, parents, emergency services and other university personnel.
This position is responsible for providing a residence life program that furthers student recruitment, retention, academic success, personal, and community and leadership development. The Associate Director, Residence Life sets strategic goals for and provides leadership and direction to residence life program curriculum development, staff recruitment, training and development, and student leadership development.
Qualifications / Required Skills
Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline. Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline. Masters degree preferred. Minimum of five to six years of related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in a student residence environment and proven ability to lead, coach and motivate staff.
Three (3) or more years of live-in university residence supervisory experience (eg: Residence Life Manager, Area Director, or equivalent) preferred.

Salary: minimum $82,302 - midpoint $102,877
